The RFduino Board

The RFduino isn't your everyday Kickstarter project. Hailed as "the world's first wireless coin-sized Arduino compatible open-source micro-computer that talks to your iPhone using Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy," it's not something your mom will probably want for Mother's Day.

The RFduino is based on the same architecture as the Arduino Uno, and includes a powerful ARM chipset and a Bluetooth Low-Energy 4.0 unit built-in.

Thanks to iOS 6, modern iOS hardware can talk with Bluetooth 4.0 devices easily — this is the same technology found in the Pebbly watch — and with the RFduino, those commands are limitless.

The project has already met its funding goal of $5,000, and I'm excited to see what people do with this little board. Be sure to check out the (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1608192864/rfduino-iphone-bluetooth-40-arduino-compatible-boa)
