The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus both push people out of their phone size comfort zone. So, if that's going to be the case anyway, they may as well get the 6s Plus when they decide to upgrade.
The iPhone 6s is the most convenient, most accessible device in my house nowadays, and that may outweigh the loss of battery life and screen size from the iPhone 6 Plus.
