Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 Instant Film Camera
Fujifilm is one of the main players in the instant film camera game these days, and their Instax Square SQ6 is an awesome camera to get started. With this fully analog little shooter, you can shoot great photos in 1:1 square format and hand them out instantly. The square format makes it easy to capture moments as they happen, since you don't have to worry about how the camera's oriented — just pick it up and snap.
The SQ6 has a handful of noteworthy features to speak of:
-
Automatic exposure control — Automatically brightens the subject and background in low-light situations.
-
Selfie mirror — There's a little mirror right next to the lens that lets you check how a selfie's going to turn out, so you don't waste sheets of film trying to get it right.
-
Macro mode — For shooting photos at closer range (about 12" to 20" away)
-
Landscape mode — For capturing subjects in the distance (basically, 7 feet away and beyond)
-
Double exposure mode — This one's pretty cool. It lets you press the shutter twice and overlays the photos together in one print:
The camera also comes with 3 strobe color filters — orange, purple, and green, respectively — that fit over the flash to get different effects:
Just be sure to buy plenty of Instax Square film right off the bat to ensure you can shoot a bunch before needing to stock up again.
