Camp’N Magnetic RV Storage Door Catch

Today's neat item is a bit of a niche one, I know. However, for a certain subset of people, it's a super useful one.

The storage compartment doors on the outsides of RVs — particularly older ones — often use a little spring-loaded plastic clip to stay open. Those brittle things break off pretty easily after all the sun and weather they're exposed to, leaving you with a door that can't stay open on its own. I suggest upgrading to magnetic door catches like these.

Once they're installed, there are no moving parts to break, and you won't have to worry about the doors crashing down on you anymore. They're also ideal for one-handed use; simply lift the door up and the strong magnets do the rest. It's a small thing but the convenience really adds up. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. The only catch (heh) is that they don't come with mounting screws, so you'll have to provide your own.

This Amazon reviewer offers a nifty installation tip:

Installation was easy...just use painters tape to stick them on where you want, mark the holes, pre-drill, apply a drop of 100% silicone and screw them on and enjoy! Took me about 15 minutes to install 4 sets and I couldn't be happier!
