Some people buy cool little vinyls to stick on their MacBooks, but maybe that’s not enough for you. If you’d really like to take it to the next level, and you’d be okay without your MacBook Pro for a few days, AND you’ve got some cash to burn, you should check out the services of Uncover.

Here’s how it works: you send them your MacBook Pro (it’s in Amsterdam, keep that in mind), they take the lid apart, laser-cut a cool design into it (you choose one from their gallery or request a custom one), then they fill that design with a half-translucent, high-strength polycarbonate plastic before putting the lid back together and sending the device back to you.

The end-result is an awesome-looking design that actually uses the lid’s backlight to glow just like the standard Apple logo. The designs in their gallery start at €199 (~$260), with custom designs starting at either €399 (~$516) for a simple design-within-a-circle, or €599 (~$775) for a completely tailor-made design.
