Following the success of its last Bluetooth speaker, Logitech’s Ultimate Ears brand has created a new and bigger wireless speaker it calls the Megaboom. Priced at $299, the UE Megaboom keeps the same look and feel, but improves on the overall experience in a few key ways.

Instead of being splash resistant like the original Boom, the new bigger speaker is completely waterproof with an IPX7 rating — submersible up to 3-feet for 30 minutes. The new speaker also improves the Bluetooth connection range from 50 feet to 100 feet and packs five extra hours of battery life, for a total of 20 hours of usage.

The UE Megaboom’s increased size allows it to get really loud while keeping a nice sound. Surprisingly, however, the speaker comes in under 2 pounds and remains an extremely portable option. There might not be a better wireless speaker to bring to the beach or pool than the Megaboom.
