Trusco T-150 Trunk Tool Box

One of the joys of my childhood was spending time in my (now deceased) grandpa’s workshop, where he taught me how to use a bunch of different tools and let me play with large cutting machinery I probably had no business being around. Even aside from the tools, he just always had interesting stuff lying around in there, all of it having a specific purpose or at least a story attached.

These wonderful little Japanese-made tool boxes are exactly the sort of thing he would’ve used to store all the little bits and bobs that any good workshop tends to accumulate.

Crafted from stamped stainless steel and painted in a beautiful blue hue, these endlessly useful and well-constructed hinged containers can withstand the rigors of any project but are small enough (6.4″ x 4.3″ x 2.3″) to stay out of your way.

I love that they’re designed to be stackable, thanks to their corner bumps underneath and matching indentions on top. It’s the little details like these that really matter in the end.

As of July 23rd, 2020, each box is currently $19 on Amazon. You can often find them for around $10 a pop though, so maybe keep an eye out for that if you’re feeling patient.
