Truffol ‘Nature Series’ Case for iPhone 5

When I think of all the wooden iPhone cases I’ve seen in my life, I realize that most are sold on the merits of their eco-friendliness over their manufacturing quality. Truffol’s Nature Series case may be perfectly eco-friendly as far as I know, but as a company, they seem to take a more Apple-like, tightly controlled approach to their engineering process.

The backside of this case is machine-milled out of a block of wood or carbonized bamboo, then meticulously hand-polished before being attached to an aluminum frame. Each aluminum frame is machined down to the 0.05th millimeter and nylon-brushed, meaning that every case ends up being a perfect fit for the iPhone and feels very nice in your hand.

The Nature Series case goes for $75, and comes in cherry wood, black walnut, carbonized bamboo, and black carbonized bamboo.

(Keep in mind that this case is designed for the iPhone 5, so it should technically fit the new 5s, but there’s always a chance of incompatibility with the camera’s new dual-flash. The camera hole seems big enough to accommodate the dual flash, but I don’t own a 5s and can’t test this theory. The home button’s fingerprint sensor should remain unaffected at least, since this case doesn’t cover the front surface.)
