Pre-order the Nintendo Labo Cardboard Kits

As a kid, I loved my NES game console but I remember wishing I could make my own controllers to play with. We had the gun peripheral that worked with Duck Hunt and I wanted more special things like that. I would have gone bonkers for the recently announced Nintendo Labo kits.

These DIY kits are made up of “Toy-Con” cardboard peripherals that you construct yourself and then bring to life with the Nintendo Switch game system. Watch the trailer video to see what I mean, and I dare you not to smile:

There are two Nintendo Labo kits to choose from:

  • The Variety Kit ($70) comes with everything you need to construct a fishing rod, a motorbike, a piano (with working keys!), a house, and two RC cars.
  • The Robot Kit ($80) lets you assemble your own cardboard exoskeleton to control a virtual walking, punching, and even transforming robot.

The kits are both scheduled to release on April 20th, 2018 and can be pre-ordered from Amazon now.
