Opti-Free “PureMoist” Disinfecting Contact Lens Solution with HydraGlyde

Opti-Free’s “PureMoist” contact lens solution — particularly the kind with their HydraGlyde lens-wetting technology — is a multipurpose solution that not only provides hydration throughout the day for maximum eye comfort, but also cleans and disinfects your silicone hydrogel and soft (hydrophilic) lenses between uses.

In fact, PureMoist contains two different disinfectants:

  1. “Polyquad” (polyquaternium-1 at 0.001%) — A detergent-type preservative with antiseptic properties.
  2. “Aldox” (myristamidopropyl dimethylamine at 0.0006%) — A compound that works to get rid of harmful microorganisms that might cause eye infections.

This stuff is formulated to store lenses for up to 30 days after disinfecting, which is nice if you don’t wear them constantly. And if you do wear them for longer periods, you might also take a look at the company’s rewetting drops to ensure they stay comfortable. Included with the solution is a lens case for storage during chemical disinfection.

They’ve got a bunch of buying options to choose from — make sure you read the label before buying though! that page has non-HydraGlyde types listed too — but I’d recommend just getting their 10 fl oz bottles in packs of one or two.
