Nest Door Lock

If you’ve gone all in on the Nest ecosystem with their security system and thermostat, you might want to consider adding the Nest x Yale door lock.

The Nest × Yale Lock replaces the deadbolt on your door. If someone tries to pry it off with it, you’ll get an alert. If the batteries get low, you’ll be notified, and if your lock loses power, you can quickly charge it with a 9V battery so you can unlock it. It runs on your Wi-Fi network and uses Nest Connect or Nest Guard to operate when away from your home network. Nest is working on the ability to use a Google Home mini to lock your door or check the status (they don’t have plans to unlock via voice).

You can buy the Nest Door lock for $249. If you don’t have a Nest Connect or Nest Guard, you can add it on for $30. It comes in nickel, bronze, and brass finishes.
