MyFitnessPal Calorie Counter

One of my goals for 2015 was to lose about 15 pounds and get down to 170. I’ve realized over the years the losing weight is 90% diet and 10% exercise. I get plenty of exercise, but I mindlessly eat more than I should. I decided to start tracking my calories to help me be more mindful of what I am eating. I had typically used Lose It!, but I decided to give MyFitnessPal a try based on a recommendation from a friend.

I’m really enjoying it so far. The app is very easy to use, but provides a ton of useful information. It syncs automatically with RunKeeper, so I don’t have to manually add my workouts to get some additional calories back. It also works with the M7 processor to give you credit for the steps you take during the day. The built in barcode scanner makes it easy to automatically figure out how many calories your food has in it. The search feature is also well done, and it includes quite a few restaurants.

It’s free on the App Store.
