Mitchell Leather Compact Classic Briefcase

During the interview we published earlier today, Mike Rohde—author of The Sketchnote Handbook and The Sketchnote Workbook— described the Mitchell Leather Compact Classic Briefcase he uses to carry his gear every day:

It was custom-built by Dave Mitchell of Milwaukee’s own Mitchell Leather. It works great for carrying my Air, pens, and even a pocket for an iPad. The more I use it the more beautiful it gets. I love this case.”

I must say, the briefcase is indeed beautiful. It’s also quite portable, yet still able to carry a 13″ MacBook Pro and an iPad, along with everyday notebooks, documents, and other miscellany. Every bag is built-to-order by hand using carefully-chosen leathers and solid brass hardware (or nickel, if you prefer).

Inside you’ll find two main compartments, multiple inner pockets, pen holders, a detachable key holder, and an internal zipper pocket. The outside back pocket is perfect for an iPad, while the integrated steel frame, double-layer adjustable strap, resistance strap holders, and leather-lined brass feet all add up to the kind of structural integrity that will last decades.

The Compact Classic Briefcase (scroll halfway down that page) is priced from $1290, and may take months to reach your hands due to high demand. But once it arrives, it might just be the last briefcase you ever buy.

To order one, email Dave Mitchell or call the factory in Milwaukee, WI at 414-272-5942.
