Marshall “Emberton III” and “Willen II” Portable Waterproof Bluetooth Speakers
We’ve always loved the iconic amplifier style of Marshall’s Bluetooth speaker lineup, because they all look just as cool as they make your music sound. And yet, despite their retro looks, new models of the speakers are continually being released with future-ready features.
Their new Emberton III and Willen II portable speakers are perfect examples of this philosophy.
Both of them are Bluetooth LE audio-ready, which itself will enable Auracast functionality — meaning, you can connect your phone to one of the speakers via Bluetooth and it can then broadcast that audio to all other Auracast-enabled speakers/headphones nearby. You’ll feel like a walking radio station. 😎
(Note: Auracast functionality is expected to be rolled out via an over-the-air update.)
The speakers also deliver surprisingly powerful sound for their size.
The Emberton III, the larger of the two, comes packed with “True Stereophonic” sound, offering rich and full 360° audio that fills any room or outdoor space with ease over the course of ~32 hours of battery life per charge. Meanwhile, the still more portable Willen II offers harder-hitting bass and improved drivers over its predecessor and delivers up to 17 hours of playback.
Both speakers boast an IP67 dust- and waterproof rating, meaning they can each handle dust, dirt, and being submerged in water for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1m/3ft. These things are excellent travel companions for even the most rugged adventures.
Get the Emberton III for $170 and the Willen II for $120.
