I missed last year’s edition somehow, but I’m excited to see that the Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell YouTube channel has put up their “Human Era” calendar for next year.

As they first described a few years back — the year 12,017 for them, and 2017 by “normal” standards — the idea of this calendar series is to celebrate the entirety of human history, not just the last couple millennia or so. As such, the latest edition displays the year 12,022 H.E. rather than plain old 2022.

In usual style, they’ve decided on a specific theme for the calendar to keep things interesting:

This year we’re expanding the scope beyond humanity to showcase forgotten animals and plants from all across the Phanerozoic Eon — this means that the pages are filled with lots of dinosaurs and other cool creatures.
