Sometimes it’s fun to be prepared for anything without necessarily letting on that you are.

Here are a few items which let you do just that.

* * *

  1. Twelve South BookBook case + wallet for iPhone 6/6s. ($60)

    What looks like a vintage leather book is actually a case and wallet that conceals your iPhone 6/6s (with removable shell), 3 cards, an ID, and some folded bills. They also make an iPhone 6/6s Plus version, which we reviewed here.

  2. W.R. Case & Sons’ Amber Bone “Hobo Knife”. ($81)

    A cutlery set disguised as a pocket knife. Read more here.

  3. Everyman Porter key knife + bottle opener. ($21)

    It looks like a nondescript key (albeit one with a bottle opener) and blends in nicely with any keyring, but tucked inside is a surgical-grade folding knife that’s perfect for opening packages and trimming the occasional stray shirt thread.

  4. Leatherman Tread multi-tool bracelet. ($165 for stainless steel, $220 for black)

    At first glance you’d think this is just a rugged metal bracelet. Take a closer look though, and you’ll discover 29 tools secreted throughout its interchangeable links, including various screwdrivers, wrenches, a cutting hook, a SIM card tool, and more.

    Throw in a ChronoLinks adapter — which comes in stainless steel or black to match your Tread — and the bracelet becomes a very cool and useful watch band. They’ve even got versions for Apple Watch.
