I’ve used every version of Fantastical for every platform since 1.0 was released. I’ve never thought that the stock Apple apps were that great, and Fantastical is built for exactly how I use my calendar. With version 2.0 for the Mac, Flexibits has changed the game once again.

The new Mac app includes a lot of great additions. Instead of just living in your Menu Bar, 2.0 is a full blown calendar app. It’s been completely redesigned for Yosemite and includes handoff support back to the iOS apps. Fantastical was one of the pioneers with natural language input in a calendar app, and this version improves upon it. It can now add alerts to events and works better with repeating events.

Another nice new feature is Calendar Sets. This allows you to show custom sets of calendars based on location or by toggling a switch. This is helpful if you manage resource calendars or want to separate home and work.
