Elegoo “Mars 3” 4K 3D Printer

If you remember that Elegoo Mars 2 Pro 3D printer I wrote about back in July, and if you never did pick one up for yourself, you should take a look at the newer Mars 3 model. Aside from its obvious departure in the looks department, the Mars 3 offers a higher print volume all around — 143mm x 90mm x 165mm versus the old 130mm x 82mm x 160mm — and ups the print resolution from 2K to 4K.

Admittedly, this resolution upgrade is a bit less noticeable to the naked eye than you’d think, unless you’re doing some seriously intricate models. As this guy’s comparison video shows, there’s more difference in print time than anything, with the Mars 3 often doing the same print jobs a lot more quickly:

If you already have the Mars 2 Pro, this is one of those situations where you’ll notice some quality-of-life improvements by upgrading to the Mars 3, but honestly I’m writing this post more for the folks who don’t even have a 3D printer yet and are wanting to get into the game.

The Mars 3 is $350 on Amazon.
