The Drobo Mini is the first Drobo to use 2.5″ drives for a smaller from factor. In fact, the whole carbon fiber rig is only three pounds fully-loaded, and is about the “size of a deli sandwich,” according to the company.

With dual Thunderbolt ports and USB 3.0, the Drobo mini is ready to connect to any modern Mac. It can be used to daisy chain up to six additional Thunderbolt devices.

Starting at just $649 for the empty case ($1,249.00 fully loaded at 3TB), the Drobo Mini is available for pre-order now, with units shipping the end of September.
