“Crisbee Stik” Cast Iron Seasoning Oil Applicator
If you’re like us, you already have a cast iron seasoning routine that works just fine. However, if you do like to try new methods from time to time, you might consider the Crisbee Stik, a cast iron seasoning that looks like a deodorant stick.
This is probably the most convenient way to season a pan I’ve ever seen — no need for pouring oils or swiping paper towels through a tub of Crisco. Just apply a little (and I do mean a little) and go through the rest of your process as normal.
It’s made from a blend of soybean oil, beeswax, and palm oil. The palm oil is the one thing that puts me off about this product, but they do claim that it’s sourced from a member of the Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), which from my limited research is a somewhat controversial organization. If palm oil is a concern for you, do your homework and see how you feel.
Alternatively, they also offer a similar product called the Larbee Stik, which is an animal fat-based seasoning made with leaf lard and beeswax. It’s pretty highly reviewed as well, so that may work better for you.
