As one reviewer notes, the black and navy versions feel a bit different in the hand:
The texture of the two colors is different. The black case is a textured rubber on the kickstand piece. The navy version is a soft leather feel. I prefer the navy feel. Both give you good grip — just a question of your preference for color & texture.
It should also be noted that the “navy” versions are actually quite dark-colored, almost to the point of being black themselves.
